Concept
Global environmental problems, such as pollution, climate change and biodiversity loss, are seriously threatening the future of humanity. In order to meet this challenge and promote the coordinated development of international trade and environmental protection, ISO has developed the ISO 14000 series of environmental management system standards. Among them, ISO 14001, as the core, is the international common tool for building green enterprises, promoting environmental management and sustainable development of enterprises through certification. The implementation of this standard not only highlights the company's environmental image, but also helps its market expansion.
ISO 14001 specifies requirements for an environmental management system that guides companies to set and achieve environmental goals based on laws and regulations and their own significant environmental factors. The standard is universally applicable to all types of organizations, and its universality stems from its nature as a basic management framework. Organizations need a deep understanding of the essence of standards in order to effectively implement them.
ISO 14001 requires companies to have systems in place to support environmental protection, prevent pollution and make continuous improvement, and to demonstrate their environmental management through third-party certification. This standard integrates the environmental management experience of developed countries while taking into account global differences to ensure broad applicability.
